Airport in Baghdad, Iraq, reported having a fire

According to a report from the state news agency, the Iraqi civil defence personnel are putting out a fire at the international airport in Baghdad.

According to the Iraqi civil defence, the fire started inside the airport's departure hall.

According to official news, teams from the transport ministry are also on the scene putting out the fire.

The fire's origin is yet unknown.

In recent years, there have been numerous deadly fires that have claimed hundreds of lives throughout Iraq.

In July 2021, a fire in a hospital in Nasiriyah resulted in the deaths of 92 people, angering the medical establishment.
