Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announced $100 million for Dolly Parton.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has announced a $100 million donation to Dolly Parton, a famous American folk music artist and patron of several charities.
The award was announced by billionaire Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez during a ceremony.
On this occasion, Lauren Sanchez praised Dolly Parton, saying that she is "a woman who is generous in helping others financially, and in every aspect of her work we can clearly see the spirit of love and compassion."
On this occasion, he added that the distribution of the award money is at the will of Dolly Parton and she can donate it to any charity or organization she wants.
The award, called The Bezos Courage and Civility Award, was launched in 2019 and its primary purpose is to recognize the services of individuals who "tend to solve problems with courage and humanity."
Lauren Sanchez addressed Dolly Parton and said, "We cannot foresee the time when you will spend this amount of one hundred million dollars on human welfare works."
In this regard, Dolly Parton said that I think that people who have status should invest their money where their heart desires. I will try my best to spend this Award’s money on good works.
It should be noted that when Jeff Bezos started this award last year, this prize money was given to the famous social activist Wayne Jones and Jose Andres, the founder of World Central Kitchen, an organization that provides free food to the poor affected by disasters around the world.
There is no doubt that Dolly Parton has not only been raising funds for charities for a long time, but she has also created an organization called the 'Dollywood Foundation' which provides children's books around the world.
Undoubtedly, the importance cannot be denied that she has been fighting the voices raised against the Covid-19 vaccine in the United States.
It is also worth mentioning here that in the year 2020, he donated one million dollars to a university for research on corona virus. This university is one of the institutes where early experiments on the 'Moderna' vaccine were conducted.
