announcer Miki Takai passed away

The broadcaster Mainichi Broadcasting System Inc. (MBS), located in Osaka, stated on February 2 that announcer Miki Takai passed away on January 25. She was 55.

The reason of her death and other information have not been made public by the broadcaster. The close family members were present during her funeral.

Hyogo Prefecture-born Takai began working for MBS in 1990. She worked as a newsreader for "MBS Now" and "Voice," and she also frequently appeared on the well-liked daily show "Chichin Puipui." She has recently made appearances on the popular show "Koshitsu Album," which features members of the Imperial Family, and the Saturday night programme "Junin Toiro (Unique Homes)." A segment of "Junin Toiro" featuring Takai that was shot before to her passing will air on February 4.

Grief over the news of her passing was shown by her former coworkers and other associates.

"She had such a wonderful personality and was such a fantastic broadcaster. She was genuinely a good coworker, "The Mainichi Shimbun was informed by Takahiko Kageyama, a professor at Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts and a former MBS producer.

The rakugo storyteller Kaishi Katsura, who shared the stage with Takai on radio and television shows, said, "She was straightforward and unpretentious, funny, and always natural. Nothing about her was dislikeable. She was such a great lady who was adored by everybody, and no one ever said anything bad about her. Why did she have to pass away so quickly?"
